Why convert a HEIC photo to PNG?
This one's less common than HEIC-to-JPG, but it matters if you're about to edit the photo and want zero further compression loss — PNG is lossless, so nothing degrades once you convert.
It's also the right call if you need to isolate part of the photo and add a transparent background afterward, since PNG is the format that actually supports that.
